About KPPC

Background 
KPPC was formed in 1993, playing on a terrain on Council property at JF Kennedy Memorial Park, 137 Beach Road, Castor Bay, Auckland. It began as an informal group of local enthusiastic Members, keen to play and promote the game of Petanque. In December 2019, Members decided to seek incorporation as an Incorporated Society. This was granted on 20 February 2020.

Club Hours of Play
Club days for play are:

Tuesdays and Thursdays:    Nov – Mar:      10:00am – 12:00pm
                                                           Apr – Oct:       1:00 pm – 3:00pm
                                    Sunday      Year round:    10:00 am – 12:00pm

Everyone is welcome. No experience necessary – just a sense of fun. Petanque can be played by people of all fitness levels and it’s an easy sport to get started in. While open to all age groups, from Juniors to Seniors, the majority of our Members are more mature in years. 
Interested people can simply turn up at Kennedy Park before Club Day play starts. We can lend them Boules to start playing and our friendly Members will introduce them to the game and show them how to play.

As well as Club Days, Members can also play in regional competitions and, if they are keen and competitive, in national and international competitions. KPPC Members take part in an extensive Calendar of events both locally and nationally throughout the year.

KPPC also holds social events such as:  Mid Winter Dinners at a local restaurant;  shared lunches at Kennedy Park; and fun games at Easter and Christmas.
