Bear Hunt
The Mairangi Bay Bear Hunt is back!
Looking for a fun (and free!) school holiday adventure? Gather the kids and head to Mairangi Bay Village for our much-loved Bear Hunt!
From 6–19 July, little explorers can:
Pick up an entry form from any participating shop.
Hunt for the hidden bears in shop windows throughout the village.
Return your completed form to the same shop to go in the draw to win some beary tasty prizes, kindly sponsored by Woolworths Mairangi Bay.
While you’re here, why not make a morning of it?
Grab a coffee, enjoy brunch or a sweet treat from one of our fantastic local cafés, or check out or beautiful gift stores and boutique clothing shops and support the wonderful businesses that make our village so special.
It’s the perfect way to keep the kids entertained while enjoying everything Mairangi Bay Village has to offer.

Capture the beauty of our village and win! The Moments of Mairangi photo competition opens this December 6th and runs through until 13 January
Photos can be taken at any time but must be captured within the Mairangi Bay boundary lines. Categories are Adult and Child, with exciting first and second prizes up for grabs!

Hibiscus & Bays Art Awards
Mairangi Arts Centre is calling for entries from artists working in all media for the prestigious Hibiscus & Bays Art Awards.
This annual awards exhibition, sponsored & proudly supported by Auckland Council’s Hibiscus & Bays Local Board, celebrates artistic and creative
practices in New Zealand.
Exhibitors will be selected by a panel of respected arts professionals. Their work will be on display in the 12th Hibiscus & Bays Arts Awards from the 23 May – 13 June 2026.

Mairangi Arts Centre’s Pop-up!
Mairangi Arts Centre’s Pop-up! is a cash & carry exhibition with no commission fee deducted from artwork sales. This makes it an excellent opportunity for artists to exhibit their work at a lower price than usual to maximize the opportunity for a quick sale. Entries will be accepted on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

Yeon Hyang Hoe – Brush Calligraphy Exhibition
Location: Mairangi Bay Arts Centre
To mark 20 years of exhibitions since 2006, the North Shore Korean calligraphy group Yeon Hyang Hoe presents a vibrant celebration of traditional Korean calligraphy during the 2026 Lunar New Year, symbolised by the Red Horse. The exhibition showcases works by 25 artists, featuring Korean and Chinese characters alongside traditional ink painting.
