At Mairangi Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, our Junior Surf (Nippers) programme introduces children aged 5–13 to the beach in a safe, fun and supportive way. From learning surf and swimming skills to building confidence in the ocean, kids are guided by experienced coaches while making new friends.

As they grow, they can join our Junior Development Squad for advanced surf training, and progress to the Rookie Lifeguard Programme at 13, a hands-on pathway to becoming a fully qualified lifeguard.

With plenty of fun, teamwork and beach events along the way, it’s the perfect place for young people to stay active, safe, and connected to the ocean
