Last term both boys and girls participated in a basketball tournament at the Eventfinda Stadium in Northcote, where both teams were placed fifth overall. It was a great day, says the school, full of swish moves, plenty of hoops and a great attitude. The school hockey team took part in a mixed grade tournament at the Harbour Hockey Stadium at Rosedale and battled a soggy pitch to storm into the semi-finals where, after a well-fought and incredible game, they were placed second against Murrays Bay.

Meanwhile, on the football pitch, the school has built a partnership with Northern Rovers Football Club, whose coaches support the school’s lunchtime programme, developing football opportunities with Year 1-6 tamariki. Two mixed teams of Year 6 footballers were invited to the Northern Rovers Festival Day at McFetrdige Park, Glenfield and played seven games displaying great teamwork. And by the time you read this the school’s netball and futsal teams will also have participated in competition.

The senior choir took part in the Kids Sing Choir Festival at Holy Trinity Cathedral singing the Swahili song ‘Sisi Ni Moja’ and ‘I bought me a Cat’ by renowned American composer, Aaron Copland.

And finally, the Senior Kapa Haka rōpu attended the Pīpīwharauroa festival at Rangitoto College and performed with much heart and aroha a range of waiata, haka, poi and mōteatea.
