Nine happy years of beachfront entertainment becomes a decade’s worth when the Mairangi Bay Food and Wine Festival swings open its gates later this month.

The Mairangi Bay beachfront reserve is the venue on 24 Feb, with gates open from 12-8pm

Entry is free but there will be controlled admittance. You will also need to provide proof of age. It will be a smoke/vape-free event and sorry, you’ll have to leave your pooch at home. To partake in the fabulous wines and beers available however, you will need to purchase a festival glass for $20.

It’s going to be a great afternoon, as usual. As well as four breweries and four wineries, there will be a great range of food from food trucks and local restaurants.

Children will be well catered for with a giant obstacle course and a bouncy castle for the wee ones, Rotary Browns Bay will be setting up a children’s play area and the face painters will be there for the afternoon.

There is a great line-up of entertainment lined up for you. Kicking off is cover band, The Renegades, stalwarts of the Auckland festival scene, followed by the Recliner Rockers Blues band.

Headline act, Phil Madsen takes to the stage to get you up and dancing till 8pm.

This event would not exist without the continued and much valued support of Barfoot and Thompson and the Hibiscus and Bays Local Board.

A big thank you too, to the Mairangi Bay Surf Lifesaving Club, who will be providing the manpower with all of the little jobs that need to be done to ensure things run smoothly. Please support their fundraising efforts on the day, they provide such a valuable service to our community.
