Art on the Street, 15 March 2014

One of the great highlights on our Village calendar is Art on the Street! Mairangi Bay is well known for its art, and for the fifth year running artists will be putting their skills on display along the main street.

You can watch them work, view some of the finished work on display, and ask them about their styles and techniques. Mairangi Arts Centre will have a stall on the day if you want to learn more about trying your hand at
the visual arts.

We will also have live music, face painting and the Mairangi Bay Plunket Toy Library will be having some art activities for your little ones. So it’s a lovely day for the whole family!

The artists are on the street between 9:30 and 12:30 on Saturday, 15th March (rain date 22nd March). At 12:30 the finished works will go on display, and a silent auction will be held for one week. This is your chance to go in and bid on your favourite pieces. 20% of the sale price will be donated to Women’s Refuge, a very worthwhile cause. Bidding sheets will also be available with the artists on the day.

So put it in your diary; come for a wander, grab some breakfast or lunch at a local café, then wander back to see what progress each artist has made!

If you are an artist and wish to be involved on the day, please contact Gabrielle on 0273689140 or email her at for more details. You must be registered in order to receive a place.
