Thank you to Carole McMinn

Carole McMinn has been our Village Coordinator for over four years and is now retiring from the role. A lot of the developments in Mairangi Bay would never have been achieved without her determination and hard work and we will really miss her.  When asked what her top achievements were, Carole described creating the Mairangi Bay Village identity and giving the community a centre that they could feel part of. Mairangi Bay now has its own voice through our website, facebook page and the monthly Village News magazine. It has its own look, with its logo on our signs and fairy lights throughout the village. The Village also has some great events such as the Santa Parade and Art on the Streets. The Village is unique and we are all lucky to be able to work in and use this local centre. Carole has been the engine driving the change and we hope she leaves us feeling proud of what she has achieved. On behalf of the business community of Mairangi Bay Village, a huge and heartfelt thank you Carole!

Welcome to Gabrielle Sheddan

With the departure of one comes the arrival of another and after a few months of looking we have found someone that demonstrated the passion and ideas to carry on the development of Mairangi Bay Village.  Gabrielle Sheddan has taken over from Carole and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience from living and working in the area – a new face with new ideas. Gabrielle grew up on the North Shore, is married to Grant and has three young boys. Previously she was a Community Support Coordinator for Plunket and has worked with teenagers, events planning, and office administration. Gabrielle says “I am excited to be in this new job. Mairangi Bay is a lovely area that I want to see thrive. There are so many great businesses and wonderful people! So I look forward to adding to the community feel of The Village. Some things to look forward to are the Barfoot & Thompson Mairangi Bay Fun Run, the Santa Parade (30 November), Santa’s Mailbox on the main street, Art on the Street next March and our very own Food and Wine Festival in February 2014!”
